1. EVERNOTE: Note Taking App

What is it?

Where do you keep notes? Here there and everywhere? Evernote is for online notes you can sync across devices (start a note on your phone and finish it on your laptop). You can take notes in many formats, including checklists, to do lists, text, photos, audio and videos. It has a cool web clipper. You can attach files and PDFs. You can also attach photos of handwritten notes or just write the note by hand directly onto the app.

Why use it?

Allows you to capture, organize and share your thoughts. Is robust enough for most users.

Sample Review:

“We much prefer Evernote for personal projects… we can’t think of a better tool.

The ability to organize your thoughts into notebooks, tag them, add attachments and voice memos and have all of that available from any device makes it the perfect tool for gathering your haphazard ideas and turning them into a searchable library of you.

While we don’t much care for the two-device limit and 60MB per month upload cap on the free account, Evernote Plus fixes that problem and won’t set you back more than the cost of a cup of coffee each month. With unlimited storage space, Evernote ranks as the best cloud notebook we’ve reviewed, beating out OneDrive, Google Keep and the rest of the field.” Joseph Gildred, Cloudwards

I’ve saved the best for last. Well, it’s an alphabetical list so it has to be last but this is my favourite new discovery.

Trello is similar to a bulletin board.  It is a great visual organizing and managing app for your work and life. I jumped right in and am a convert. It is great collaboration tool and used in business but it is great for single use.
